What is "The Curious Compass"?
The purpose of this blog is to capture big ideas and record them for the benefit of all who read and for posterity. It is to elicit mental and spiritual stimulation. It is to record insights and glimpses of light and truth. To identify principles for practical application. It is to practice thinking and help others to think My vision is that "The Curious Compass" might help others gain new insight and perspectives of things they may have never thought of before that can help them to sort their lives out, even as I try to do the same thing in my own life. I do not presume to know more than anyone else; but I do believe that different perspectives can often be like medicine to the soul. This blog is for those who seek and love truth in all it's forms and wish to recognize it more fully in their daily lives.
Why the name?
The compass has long symbolized mankind's search for meaning, direction, and truth. "Curious" could be taken to mean the more common form, i.e. "eager to know or learn something" but of course inanimate objects cannot be curious in that sense. It's more meant to be understood as "strange or unusual". There are some truths that are under our noses and are impossible to see without the proper perspective, when I discover these principles and truths, I feel a "curious" sense of awe and wonder that stimulates me and drives me to learn more. This is why the blog is called "The Curious Compass"
